Rick and I went for a small drive after we had dinner at his moms. (We had hopes of taking some pictures of each other, but those plans kind of fell through. Perhaps we can take some tomorrow.) While we were driving, I couldn’t help but notice how neat the clouds looked. And a few things ran through my head. One was Kimya Dawson’s song I Like Giants: “When I go for a drive I like to pull off to the side of the road, turn out the lights, get out and look up at the sky. And I do this to remind me that I’m really really tiny…” Though not exactly what we did, we stopped at a stop sign, and I hopped out and took some pics, but had to quickly hop back in because another car was coming up being us. But the main thing that I thought about (and this is something that runs through my mind quite often) was the verse in Psalm8:4 that asks: “What is man that you are mindful of him?” It completely boggles my mind that God who is so beyond us would even think to stoop down to our earth to care about mankind.
