I have had a few people ask whether or not I do engagement sessions and the resounding answer is: YES! In fact, I’m planning on reworking my wedding package to include an engagement session, because I think they are important. For one reason, they allow me to see what you are like in front of the camera, prior to the “big day.” While we may have a great time at our meeting, some people tend to get nervous when a camera is brought into the mix. Secondly, having your picture taken is fun! At least, I hope that you finish a session with me with the line: “That was fun.” While your wedding day should also be fun, usually you don’t really get to enjoy your picture-taking time. You are busy getting ready or rushing from ceremony to reception, making sure everything goes as planned. However, in an engagement session, we are really able to slow it down and focus completely on you and your love, no wedding day stresses allowed. Lastly, you are able to show the real you more. You get to wear your own clothes, go to places where you can feel more natural and comfortable.
So, if you have already ordered an engagement session and haven’t already scheduled it with me, you may want to start considering a date (and you will probably be getting an email from me soon). If you didn’t order an engagement session, but are interested in having one, shoot me an email.
*I’d like to note that while the session is called an engagement session, they are not reserved for the engaged only. Perhaps you aren’t engaged yet, but you’ve been together for years and want some pictures of the two of you or perhaps you have been married for 5, 10, 20 years and realized that the last pictures you had together were, in fact, your wedding pictures an “engagement” session could be just the thing for you!
