Alex

I had a great session with Alex, an adorable blue-eyed little guy. Baby sessions always make me happy.

Here are a few of my favorites.

I, personally, am not a huge fan of selective color, but I know a lot of people seem to like it, and I thought it fit pretty well with this picture.

Alright, maybe it’s just me, but this one CRACKS me up. The guys look so proud, and Alex just looks like: “Do I really have to be seen with these people?!?”

Sarah & Justin: Married!

I’ve known Sarah for a few years now, and it’s so exciting to see her in love and married. Their wedding was very sweet and personal, and I’m so grateful to them for allowing me to photograph their special day.

It was a gorgeous day, although a bit hotter than expected.

Ring shot!

A little pre-wedding funniness.

Doesn’t look nervous at all.

GORGEOUS!!! Are you kidding me? *Favorite*

Another favorite!!

Showin’ off her bridal footwear.

Have some cake!

Believe it or not, this was my first chocolate covered strawberry! Pretty good! But, I think I preferred the chocolate covered pretzels.

Watching the humorous and emotional slideshow of each of them growing up.

I love the look on the little flower girl’s face, tongue out, full concentration.

Quick smooch in the getaway car.

OK Now

So, Jon McLaughlin has a new CD out called OK Now. Honestly I’m not sure how long it’s been out (but within a couple weeks), I just realized it was out while i was shopping the other day and picked it up.

I really like this other work, so I was excited to hear his newest release (plus, we went to the same college at the same time, and how cool is it to say, “I went to school with him”?)

And, surprisingly enough, I like his newest work. However, Rick pointed me to a blog post of someone (forgive me, I do not remotely recall who it was or the site name) who commented that we tend to be afraid to critique things that are well loved. The movie Wizard of Oz was one example I remember. I think for me I’ve always been afraid to critique things for fear that in pointing out all of the faults one would think I do not like whatever I’m critiquing, which usually isn’t the case at all.

That being said. I’m going to attempt a critique of Jon’s newest release. (Keep in mind that my musical education basically consists of children’s choir at church and choir/chorale in high school.) Read More »

Christmas idea #3

Photo Canvas!

I ordered one of these about a year ago, and it was GORGEOUS! Everyone that saw it wanted one. I know they are more expensive than regular prints, but they are so worth it. The image is printed directly on a canvas for a high-class, artsy look. And, they come ready to hang, no need for frames or mounting.

This is a detail of the above canvas, I wanted to try to show you the texture it has.

Eli at the zoo

I had been wanting to go to the zoo all year, and Becca was wanting to take Eli again, since he is a little older, and presumably would like it better.

It was a gorgeous day (a bit warmer than we anticipated, but still nice.) And we had fun. Eli didn’t get over excited about the animals, but he still had a good time.

I think the dophin show was his favorite. He was just giggling and laughing as they jumped out of the water. I really didn’t take a ton of pictures, I was too busy enjoying the day. But, I did get a few.

See, Gorgeous day!

Checking out the big cats!

He doesn’t look too excited in this pic, but about 3 seconds before it was taken, he had shouted out, “ZEBRA!!” as we pointed it out for him to look at.
